In other words, Code coverage is a way of ensuring that your tests are actually testing your code. Coverage acts as an effective approach to determine the efficiency of your test case (or a set of test cases); knowledge of the internals of the object being tested shall be known to (white/black-box) test and helps in test case optimization. There are many different coverage measures. A simple one is to record which lines of code were executed. If a line has never been executed, it s a safe bet you didn t catch any bugs lurking in it.
